O f\u00edsico passou a inf\u00e2ncia e adolesc\u00eancia aperfei\u00e7oando seus estudos de matem\u00e1tica e as literaturas grega e francesa. Em 1925, ele se formou em qu\u00edmica na Universidade de Harvard, enquanto em 1927 obteve seu doutorado na Universidade de G\u00f6ttingen. O cientista se formou em engenharia qu\u00edmica na Universidade de Karlsruhe e obteve seu doutorado em f\u00edsica sob a orienta\u00e7\u00e3o de Werner Heisenberg, pai da mec\u00e2nica qu\u00e2ntica na Universidade de Leipzig e que mais tarde chefiou o projeto de bomba at\u00f4mica nazista. Entre os anos de 1930 e 1934, ele foi orientado pelo f\u00edsico italiano Enrico Fermi, famoso pelo desenvolvimento do primeiro reator nuclear. Este assunto \u00e9 retratado de forma ampla atrav\u00e9s do filme Oppenheimer (2023), com dire\u00e7\u00e3o de Christopher Nolan, e tamb\u00e9m da s\u00e9rie Manhattan (2014). Inicialmente, a rela\u00e7\u00e3o de ambos era caracterizada com a formalidade do trabalho, necessitando pontuar que Oppenheimer era o chefe atr\u00e1s nas pesquisas da bomba at\u00f4mica. Entretanto, a rela\u00e7\u00e3o de coleguismo come\u00e7ou a dar errado quando Edward Teller descobriu que os \u00e1tomos poderiam ser fundidos. Assim, surgem os dois tipos de bomba at\u00f4mica, a bomba de fiss\u00e3o nuclear e a bomba de fus\u00e3o nuclear.\u00a0<\/p><p>A bomba de fiss\u00e3o, como indicado por sua denomina\u00e7\u00e3o, utiliza a fiss\u00e3o nuclear que ocorre dentro de um compartimento adequado. Al\u00e9m disso, um exemplo que pode ser utilizado \u00e9 o n\u00facleo do sol, que transforma dois \u00e1tomos de hidrog\u00eanio em um \u00e1tomo de h\u00e9lio. Desse modo, a energia liberada \u00e9 a que chega at\u00e9 o planeta Terra. Assim sendo, Edward Teller, em conhecimento desse poderio, solicitou ao governo americano que as ideias de Oppenheimer fossem deixadas de lado e iniciassem a produ\u00e7\u00e3o da Bomba H, uma vez que temia que os sovi\u00e9ticos partissem pro uso dela, mas J. Robert Oppenheimer era contr\u00e1rio a essa decis\u00e3o. Portanto, essa obsess\u00e3o fez Teller ignorar seu trabalho no projeto e chegou a divergir de forma completa do restante do grupo, o que ocasionou seu afastamento da equipe.<\/p><p>Ap\u00f3s o bombardeamento de Hiroshima e Nagasaki, e posteriormente, o fim da Guerra, Oppenheimer desistiu de desenvolver armas nucleares, devido \u00e0s consequ\u00eancias de sua cria\u00e7\u00e3o. O cientista passou a pensar a energia nuclear para gera\u00e7\u00e3o de energia urbana. E, devido a isso, um julgamento especial ocorreu em 1954, o qual decidiu que J. Robert Oppenheimer teria todas suas autoriza\u00e7\u00f5es de seguran\u00e7a canceladas pela comiss\u00e3o de energia at\u00f4mica dos Estados Unidos. Al\u00e9m disso, Teller foi a \u00fanica figura, dentre os presentes, que testemunhou contra o antigo colega de trabalho, constantemente reafirmando que o nova-iorquino estava diretamente ligado aos Sovi\u00e9ticos, o que ocasionou diversas cr\u00edticas pela comunidade cient\u00edfica.<\/p><p>Por fim, Oppenheimer se exilou nas ilhas virgens americanas e viveu at\u00e9 o final de sua vida por l\u00e1, junto com sua esposa e filha. Inclusive, foi diagnosticado com c\u00e2ncer na garganta pois tinha um grande h\u00e1bito de fumar, al\u00e9m de que as condi\u00e7\u00f5es de seguran\u00e7a durante o Projeto Manhattan n\u00e3o eram as melhores. Julius Robert Oppenheimer morreu em 1967, aos seus 63 anos. Enquanto isso, Edward Teller prosseguiu seus estudos e em sua miss\u00e3o pessoal de desenvolvimento militar. Devido a isso, na d\u00e9cada de 1980, ele se tornou o grande impulsionador do Programa de Defesa Estrat\u00e9gica, conhecido por \u201cguerra nas estrelas\u201d, defendido pelo presidente Ronald Reagan. Al\u00e9m disso, teve uma longa vida, realizando diversos feitos pessoais e profissionais, al\u00e9m de ser prestigiado em diversas premia\u00e7\u00f5es, como no Pr\u00eamio Albert Einstein e o Pr\u00eamio Enrico Fermino.
